It’s not every day that photographers get to document two weddings of the same family, but that’s exactly what Jonathan and I were blessed to do when Leann and Daniel asked us to be part of their wedding. We were so excited and honored to photograph Leann’s sister Shelly’s wedding in 2014, so when we got the call from Leann and Daniel, we were over the moon!
Leann and Daniel chose to have their ceremony at Canaan Baptist Church. Leann’s father, David Westmoreland, is the beloved pastor of Canaan’s congregation, and he officiated at both of his beautiful daughters’ weddings. Not only did he officiate, but he also constructed this amazing arbor for Leann and Daniel’s ceremony.
Leann chose to ornament the sanctuary with classic arrangements of glossy green magnolia leaves, roses, lily of the valley, grapevines, and wisteria. Vines and blossoms also decorated the tall oak cross that her father had constructed for her sister Shelly’s wedding the year before.
Everyone expects brides to be nervous and stressed on their wedding day, but if Leann was jittery, she didn’t show it! Her getting-ready room was full of laughing, relaxed, and happy friends and family.
Leann was gorgeous from the top of her head to the tips of her pretty toes.
Meanwhile, the groom and his friends were figuring out their ties and boutonnieres.
Daniel was just as relaxed and happy as Leann. He couldn’t wait to see his sweetheart, but first we took some fun photographs of his groomsmen. I LOVED that it was their idea to do a jump shot!
BEST. JUMP. SHOT. EVER.
Leann chose to have a special First Look moment with her daddy.
These gorgeous young women were so much fun to work with! I loved watching them ham it up for the videographer!
The showers held off just long enough for us to take a few pictures outside, and I’m so glad we did! Aren’t those dresses amazing? The fresh, lighthearted mint color was perfect for an early spring wedding!
Then it was time for their First Look. Daniel’s reaction was straight from his heart. He was absolutely amazed when he saw his beautiful, happy bride.
I was so glad that Leann and Daniel chose to have a First Look. They were just absolutely wrapped up in each other, and their First Look gave them a chance to drink each other in and enjoy the moment.
Leann’s bouquet of pink and coral roses, white daisies, whimsical yellow craspedia, and soft dusty miller suited her perfectly. I loved how the pins in the roses added just a hint of sparkle!
After the bride and groom finished their portraits, the entire wedding party got to get in on the fun!
This little flower girl couldn’t take her eyes off the beautiful bride, and she was happy to help with Leann’s lovely cathedral length veil.
Leann and Daniel know how to have fun, and their families do too! I was so glad they could have these sweet, silly moments together before the ceremony.
And very soon, the musicians began to play, and it was time for the wedding. (If you look closely at the next two pictures you will see two photographers and one videographer hard at work and having a ball!)
Here comes the bride!
Leann’s grandfather led the congregation in prayer as the sweet, touching ceremony began. Happy tears were shed throughout the sanctuary as these precious sweethearts said their vows under the arbor and celebrated Communion together at the foot of the Cross.
And I just want to say that these two adorable flower girls looked and behaved like angels the entire time!
And with a kiss, they were a Mr. and Mrs.! Their exit was so much fun – Daniel’s teammates from the University of Alabama football team were waiting to congratulate him.
And I thought it was absolutely precious that Leann chose to be barefoot for her wedding.
Leann and Daniel chose to have their reception at Border Springs Baptist Church in Caledonia. The fellowship hall was beautifully decorated with the couple’s new monogram – “G” for Geddes! Rustic windowpanes, frames, ribbons, and burlap celebrated Leann’s love of handmade treasures. Guests had fun signing swatches of fabric which would later be sewn into a quilt for the couple to treasure forever.
The bride’s cake was simple and elegant, and fit the theme of the wedding perfectly. The flowers echoed Leann’s bouquet, and the cake was creatively displayed on a large rustic wooden spool table.
Guests enjoyed a generous bouquet of yummy finger foods and sweet treats. A colorful candy bar invited friends and family to add even more sweetness to this sweet day!
These photos show you just how much fun cutting the cake at your wedding can be!
The Groom’s Cake was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup lover’s dream! I loved how it perfectly displayed Daniel’s love of the outdoors and hunting.
Photo booths add so much FUN to a reception! When Daniel’s University of Alabama football teammates crowded into the booth, everyone couldn’t wait to have their photos taken with them!
Speaking of teammates – We knew something up when University of Alabama linebacker Josh Dickerson had a private moment with Leann and Daniel before the bouquet toss…
Now THAT’S a pass interception! What a fun, memorable moment!
Leann and Daniel used this very same football during their engagement session! Guess who caught the garter too?
The bridesmaids and groomsmen did an EPIC job with their getaway car…
Just a little sprinkle of rain fell from the clouds, mint and white balloons drifted into the sky, and a very happy Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Geddes dashed away on their way to their honeymoon.
Daniel and Leann, your sweet, romantic, and fun wedding day was a perfect joy to behold. Jonathan and I will always remember the day you said “I do!” We pray that God continues to bless you as you start your life’s adventure together.
