Bethany & Tyler both have large, close families, and during their wedding weekend, they were surrounded by so much love! While Tyler and his family enjoyed meeting Bethany’s family and getting a taste of real Mississippi hospitality, Bethany chose to get dressed at her mom and dad’s beautiful home in Columbus. Beth Ann and Jerry’s home is FILLED with photographs & precious keepsakes! Since Jon and I are storytelling photographers, we were delighted to be able to mix these happy memories of the past with the new memories of Bethany’s wedding day. Guess who this little baby dress belonged to?
Bethany and her friends were so relaxed and happy as they spent the morning getting pampered. Even the family’s furbabies got in on the fun!
Bethany’s got an awesome brother in Carson. He made a pretty excellent Best Man for Tyler too!
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… and a penny for her shoe!
Even though it was a beautiful spring day, the weather had turned from warm to CHILLY on the morning of the wedding. Bethany and her lovely bridesmaids braved the icy breezes so we could capture these beautiful portraits with a family member’s vintage truck. Just look at this gorgeous bride!
Wasn’t her bouquet amazing? I LOVED how the vintage brooches added just a hint of sparkle.
Did I mention it was COLD? This sweet angel was such a trooper. She hung out with the “big girls” all day long!
I loved the soft, misty silver color Bethany chose for her bridesmaids’ gowns. Each gown was slightly different from the others, and the elegant, understated style complemented Bethany’s lace dress perfectly.
Bethany had so much with her beautiful veil! She has such a joyful smile, we loved every minute we spent in her company.
Bethany and Tyler’s ceremony was held in the sanctuary of historic First Baptist Church in Columbus. Spring is a beautiful time of year to have a wedding in Mississippi, and dogwoods, apple blossoms, and fresh new leaves made a lovely natural adornment for the entryway.
Bethany’s sweet Daddy was waiting to see her in the lovely parlor inside. He was so happy and proud of his little girl!
Tyler’s turn was next, but first we took some fun portraits of him and his groomsmen as they finished getting ready. Thank goodness for YouTube tutorials, right?
And then Bethany and Tyler had their own precious First Look. Tyler was blown away! He just couldn’t stop smiling!
They couldn’t take their eyes off each other. ❤
And very soon, it was time for a wedding. Music by the Sumic Trio, a local string ensemble, filled the sanctuary as friends and family filled the pews. Lovely evening light made the stained glass windows glow with color. Waiting in the parlor, the families gathered for a moment of prayer.
Before she entered the sanctuary, Bethany had a peek at the GORGEOUS vintage sedan that she and Tyler would ride in to the Reception! I loved her reaction!
And in a beautiful, joyful ceremony, the two became one.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Williamson dashed off to their Reception through a cloud of bubbles, laughter, and happy wishes! Their destination: the Hewlett Barn in Starkville, Mississippi!
“Bethany & Tyler, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G…” Playful, sweet signs adorned each turn of the trip, giving the wedding guests a delightful treat as they traveled to the Hewlett Barn.
Before they entered the Reception, Bethany & Tyler took a few minutes to pose for romantic sunset portraits. ❤
Be still, my heart! Such sweetness!
Now THAT’S the way to enter a Reception!
The Hewlett Barn was beautifully decorated with flowing arrangements of spring flowers, glowing strings of lights, flickering candles, antique windows, and vintage bottles.
Reception guests were treated to a SUMPTUOUS hot Southern buffet, complete with carving station. Y’all, I had the BEST fried green tomatoes I have EVER eaten at this reception! A special table of family treats completed the wonderful meal.
This CAKE, y’all!
Did I mention that Bethany’s daddy, Jerry Beard, is a guitarist and vocalist with our awesome local band Poor House Bound? How COOL is it that he and Bethany sang together during the Reception?? Jerry and his talented friends kept the floor filled with dancers all evening long. No one, including the photographers, were ready for the evening to end!
I can’t help it, here’s another photo of this LOVELY cake… ❤
Bethany and Tyler, your wedding day was SO. MUCH. FUN! We hated for the day to end! It was such a blessing and privilege to be your “wedding paparazzi” and share this amazing time with you and your families and friends. God bless you as your start your new life as a Mr. & Mrs.!
